Red face LEGO Lord of the Rings!

    So it begins...

The first trailer has been released for LEGO Lord of the rings:

This looks incredible. Unlike most previous LEGO games, this one features full voice acting.

I definitely plan on purchasing this game, which has a projected release date of late October. It will make a perfect anniversary gift for my wife (who is obsessed with Tolkien, and loves these LEGO games).

Is anyone else looking forward to this?

How I wish I was still a kid... Oh, this would have been so awesome. I saw the announcing for these a while back, but to see they're still going through with it is pretty cool.

I still have a huge Rubbermaid container full of Legos somewhere. I used to play with them day in and day out. Good memories.

    Codey,

You do realize that this is a full-blown epic RPG video game, right?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who hasn't thrown away his lego.

This has joined my list of Games to Buy, right up there with Lego Batman 2. Heck, I'll buy this game before I buy Skyrim*!

*No, I haven't been living under a rock, I just borrowed it from a friend instead of purchasing.

I love that my kids are old enough for legos now... but I miss the sets from the 90's. I'm gonna have to start going to garage sales.

My God... I never thought I'd actually own a Lego video game.... But they are making real sets to build and play with as well.

Good grief, did they actually just take the voices from the movie? That would be... jarring, in the middle of a silly LEGO puzzle game. I'm definitely a fan of the various LEGO Star Wars and Indiana Jones games, but part of the charm was the lack of dialogue. Having all the dialogue, especially if it's taken from the movies... I dunno. I'm sure it'll sell like hotcakes, I just think I'd find it disconcerting.

My husband and I have all the achievements for the Lego Harry Potter games. We play through those things obsessively, and I was excited enough for the DC superheroes coming to Lego Batman 2. But Lord of the Rings? Goodness, you don't know how my husband gets about Tolkien. I got us tickets to see a performance of the Howard Shore soundtrack from the Vancouver orchestra shortly after we got engaged, so it's always been something we shared with each other. Assassin's Creed III: Liberation aside, this is probably my most anticipated title. Yes, more than Assassin's Creed III. Don't judge my priorities.

My wife and daughter got me LEGO Batman 2 for Father's Day. Like the upcoming LEGO Lord of the Rings it has full voice acting.

I was skeptical about spoken dialog appearing in a LEGO game, but it actually works really well once you get used to it. It allows for the game to tell a much richer, complex story. This will definitely be a plus for Lord of the Rings.
