Yes, silly title, but the article is very informative about the traditional side of publishing. Guest post on Chuck Wendig's Terrible Minds from one of the marketing guys at Angry Robot Books. Mild language, but should be basically SFW. Some familiarity with Pacific Rim helpful for appreciation, but not required.

1 & 19 strike me as very apt, especially when I think about the work my editor puts in.

And it is a lot like dating for a while, you have to constantly be certain, in all your actions, in all your correspondence etc that you're keeping your publisher happy. Because good publishers end up being your partner I think - you both want the same thing. To put out a great book.

I also like the one about choices too - so many more choices for authors out tehre now
