paperback books are still king in publishing. However, I read somewhere (I can't remember where so I can't source it--take it with a grain of salt) that the ebook market and the paperback market are separate markets... in other words, people predisposed to buy ebooks aren't likely to buy paperbacks, and vice-versa.
Market fragmentation in the book community. Interesting.

Yep. And as a commenter mentioned, this only counts industry-reported stats from the Association of American Publishers. IE, does not count Indie titles or even some smaller publishers. Total true eBook sales are likely to be somewhat higher.
