The Story
There are 10 people other than yourselves competing in the arena. After leaving the arena, everyone gets ready for the trip south to Kulta. On the way to the Rael home, about 1 day in, they encounter a small group of bandits. They see about 5 of them. The one that jumped out to get their money and the other 4 hidden in the trees and bushes. Either pay the toll or die. You should probably rest for the night. The next morning, if nothing happened in the middle of the night, you get up and continue your journey. Once you get there, you see Lynx bathing under the waterfall. Once she spots you, she screams, tries to cover herself up and then runs for her sword by the edge of the river, where all of her clothes are. If you finally make her like you, she’ll invite you in for soothing ivy leaf tea. Once you inquire about Calypso, she freaks out, asks if she’s alright. She then tells you the story of how when she came home from Famridel, gathering supplies, that she saw the house in an uproar and stinking to high heaven, like an undead war party has been through here. She couldn’t find Calypso anywhere and finally found a note posted inside the closet where she tried hiding from them. The note reads “My love, I don’t have much time right now, but I must leave you for a while. 10 nasty smelly undead creatures just stormed the house looking for me. I do not know why they are trying to capture me, but I will go with them willingly so I do not risk hurting myself. Please do not fret my dear, just go show my father this note and he will know what to do. I will be safe; you have my word, dear. Love, Calypso.” She then tells you that she went to see King Himo and that she showed him the letter. As soon as he finished with the letter, a messenger was ushered in and he gave him news that Vola says “Mortimer now has Calypso. What must I do my liege?” Then he sent a message back stating “You are to stay put. I am sending help to eradicate this evil blemish from existence and to get my daughter back.” He then asks her to leave, that he must be alone for a while. She returns home and starts cleaning up the mess that those filthy creatures left behind. It’s been almost 2 weeks since this happened. Please tell me that you will get my love back home safe and sound? I want to travel with you, but it looks like you can handle anything. Please let me fix you dinner before you leave. You’ll need all the strength that you can get, because from what I can tell, Mortimer is a pretty formidable foe. His familiar alone is rumored to be a very hard creature to fight against. Please be safe. Before you leave, she gives you a bunch of dried berries and jerky so you will have enough food. She even comes up with some chow for the horses and mules. Then you make your way to the Skull Crag Mountains, through the Marshes of Ester. Going through the marshes, will slow you down about 2 days, since you have to go slower and be wary of all of your surroundings. Once you get to Chad’s you can resupply if necessary. Then you make your way to Elversult in the Elversult forest.
