There, I said it. It's not flame bait or anything, I just thought it was too dense and frankly boring. I liked The Hobbit and LOTR, maybe it's time to read some of the other Middle Earth books. Some of them look pretty promising.

I've been a few times. My biggest piece of advice is to see the countryside in the south and west, and mostly avoid the cities other than Galway and Kilkenny, which are pretty cool -- I'm not a fan of Dublin (expensive and not much to see). The golf is superb.

It's been so long since I read the other books in the series at this point that I think I'd have to read them again to remember the story. At this rate he'll finish the series... 20 years after he's dead? 30 years? :) I guess he could pull a Tolkein and have his son finish it...
