A behemoth. Or Canadian lizard man? Gargoyle.
I’ve also been working on pulling from lesser known magical creatures for my WIP. Good luck with your hunt :)
I am currently working on a storyline with legends from around the globe and agree that all non-European fantasies are very much underrated. That being said, it is very difficult to find information on non-western Euro legends for writers like myself to utilize without very very in-depth...
Probably not totally irredeemable if you show your readers he has had his "aha" moment and then begins to make a change. I have seen authors take what appeared to be a villain from one book and turn them into an unlikely hero in their second book simply by explaining the reasons for their...
Congrats on the milestone! I am working my way through my second draft of my first novel. So many things changed by the end of the first draft (in spite of my outlines and charts and plot graphs) that I had to go back and make it all sort of mesh. So I’m still working my way through that.

Initially, I gave the best friend of my main character a bow (she also has a dirk for closer combat and...
Wow, there really is a lot. The only one you’ve mentioned that I’d heard of before is a Leshy. So that’s awesome :) Now I have a ton of new leads to go track down.
Oh I love the kitsune! My current work has a kitsune as a minor character. I was wondering which resources you all found most useful for getting a general idea on crafting your kitsune characters?
I am also intrigued by which type of creatures you were referring to when you mentioned Russian lore?
