I'm writing a YA Fantasy manuscript about two brothers separated by a 1000 miles and its been five years since they've seen each other. And while reading through my first act, I've realized that my plots are almost mirror images.
This happened almost unintentionally. I sort of wanted the first...
Mainly Christians, seeing as it's the most wide spread across the region at that time. He's a professor of science and sort of sleuth. So he tends to use his feelings towards religion, and the "magic" behind it all, when teaching or debunking supernatural cases.
Good morning to all,
I have been playing around lately with my WIP, trying out new settings and time periods, and I've become infatuated with setting my story in a fictional country, with the same advancements as England during the Victorian era. With that being said, I have come to the point...
Hello!
My discussion topic for the day pertains to outlining. As a person who has difficulty sitting down and outlining my stories from the beginning, to the middle, and then the end; I am curious to hear some of your methods and experiences with the subject. Specifically, what type of...
Honestly, I don't think it would hurt. Some characters, the rougher ones especially are probably more prone to the archaic speech. As a reader and an adult who often hears and uses these words, I barely even notice it when I'm reading. But that's just me.

I think the looming villain can be a tad overdone. That being said, I do love a good looming villain, if they are done correctly. These villains were my favorite part of LOTR and The Sword of Shannara. Those epic fantasies with fellowships and wars between races, and the overall common goal of...
I would say, stick with a few, possibly only two or three interacting with one another, then add the other characters throughout the next couple of chapters. It gets hard to differentiate what is really happening when you are being bombarded with so many unknown characters right off the bat...
Hello there! To all young authors and enthusiasts of the fine art of fantasy; my name is Jasper James Heart.
To refrain from boring you all into early graves, or a state of catatonia, I will proceed with keeping things short and simple, (If I can manage):
I was born at a very ripened age...
