    What are you Reading Now?

I'm currently reading Poetic Edda with commentary as well as Joe Abercrombie's Best served cold. I'm enjoying both immensely, for completely different reasons. Usually I despise reading old books with commentary, but I don't think I could get through this without some outside insights.

Technical term for members of a militia?

I'd probably call them conscriptsmen or something like that. Or levyman. Just my 2 cents though.

Do POV characters have to be 'important'?

So, I've had this bigger project for a couple of years, where I've been creating a new fantasy world from scratch. And I've been wondering, do you feel it is detrimental to the story, in a multiple POV book, to have some of the POV characters be just 'normal' farmers, blacksmiths et cetera...

    Magic: The Gathering

I've been playing since Kamigawa came out, so late 2004. Never been into the tournament side of things, but been playing hundreds of hours casually with my friend circle, which has close to 20 active players. We mostly play with constructed decks where cards can come from any set, so the decks...

    LOTR Books vs movies

I enjoyed the movies immensely, and still watch them like once a year at least, in one marathon of extended edition goodness. Still, I voted for the books, because I absolutely love them. I read the trilogy + the Hobbit at least once a year, and they will forever hold a soft spot in my heart...

    Your Subgenre

I guess that my most favourite subgenre is gaslight fantasy. Though it's been quite some time since I wrote a story clearly under that genre. It's still the one that I just love writing.

    Hello there.

It's nice to meet you all. My name is Pete, and I come from Finland. I've been writing poems and lyrics since I was little, and have written the odd short story here and there. Nothing published though, and neither do I mean or hope to. Nowadays I write a lot of fantasy, some scifi and...
