    Stephanie Meyer vs. Ann Rice

I watched the movie Twilight first (mistake) and thought big deal. What is all the hype about. I read the book and then watched the movie again. Better, but didn't leave a lasting impression. It's an easy read and tends to keep the interest of teens. The series would not be on my top 10 list.

    really bad day!

Sandwich technique. Good news first, bad new second and the more good news. Good news would be the cancer has been detected before it got to far. Bad news - that is why you lost the baby. More good news - I love you, thank you for calling me and I'm so glad you'll be around for many more...

    Merlin

Have any of you read Mary Stewart's Merlin Trilogy? I read the first one but had a hard time keeping up with all the characters. I actually had to keep notes to keep myself straight. Good book but just detailed. Any suggestions before I start the other two?

Once Upon a Time - New Show on ABC

Wow, that preview of Grimm looks really good. When does it come out? I haven't seen the preview from Once Upon a Time but it does really sound Enchanted and the 10th Kingdome all rolled into one. I do hope these are good 'cause I'm like Blue Lotus. There's not much on TV that I want to watch...

    Percy Jackson

Like Eragon (Corn). It could have been so much more. I sometimes wonder what these producers are thinking. However, the scenery in Eragon is fantastic. I would love to see that part of Romania one day.

    Fantasy Must Read List

The last Herald Mage-Series is also one of my favorites. I would definitely add that to my list. I did think that the Arabat series was rather boring and hard to follow. Anyone else feel this way?

    inspiration

I gather inspiration from many different places. I like options. Music is a primary inspiration followed closely by urban legends, strange phenomena, myths, and folklore. I like the "what ifs" to spark my imagination and then just take it from there.

    Percy Jackson

Rick Riordian's "Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief" has captured the attention of many fantasy lovers. The Son of Neptune, his latest in this series just came out this week. I really feel like these books could be made into a TV series and be successful. What do you think?

    Favorite beer

Smithwicks is now on my grocery list. I do like to try a new brew when someone recommends it. Like Map the Dragon, my all time favorite is Blue Moon with the orange slices. It just tastes refreshing to me, especially on a hot day. :D

    Books or the Internet?

I have just come from the library because I could not find what I wanted online. Although the internet is more efficient, sometimes just to do the basic book research relaxes me and helps my mind flow on to other ideas. Time, of course, is a factor here. For the quick answer, the internet is...

    From the Keep

Fantasy is my genre'. I love everything about it and often wonder if I wasn't born in the wrong time period. I believe that I am a Celt at heart. Looking forward to some great reading here.
