Life does get in the way. It's pretty much the same for all of us. But writing is one of those things that becomes a life-long pursuit for many of us. It's something we love, and we can't stop doing it (though we try....repeatedly, sometimes).
Glad you are finding the time to reinvigorate your commitment to your writing. No time spent writing is ever wasted, as you can always pick it back up again, even after years of hiatus.
