Well I think Reaver has covered the main point quite succinctly there: this is the best place to be. So welcome to the best place to be, IcePhoenix. Mythology is a great topic of research, it's so varied and interesting and can tell you so much about what people of the culture who created it considered most important or valuable, or what traits are feared or revered. I think that's part of why it's such a great resource for fantasy writers, quite apart from the fantastic beasties and frightening monsters you can steal or adapt.
