Life in a Medieval City

I’ve found this book by Francis & Joseph Gies to be particularly useful in my research. It gives a fairly detailed look at life in medieval towns and cities, detailed descriptions of medieval trades, and a good explanation of medieval economics. I’d highly recommend it for world building.

The Gies' wrote a whole series of Life in... books. They're generally reliable, though most of their sources come from a fairly narrow range, both temporally and geographically. Good introductions, though.

Don’t use the link. I don’t know why it didn’t that. Copy and paste the ISBN into Google or something.

It didn't work because it's a telnet link, not a web link. I haven't seen one of those in ever so long! It's the sort of thing one might see when connecting to a university library computer, back in the day.
