Is Originality Even Possible?

I wouldn't worry about being original but writing what you know enough about to write well and focus on getting things right and good.

Striving for orginality for its own sake can leave you second guessing your own decisions into infinity, force you to develop a setting that don't work with your plot or your own interests or get bogged down in "world building swamp" so that you never actually get around to write your story.

Or at least that's my experience with the search for orginality.
