I signed up a while back, but just got around to posting. Hope you're all staying safe and well. Looking forward to interesting conversations here. I consider myself more of a reader than a writer, and I read anything really. From Gaiman to Murakami; from Zadie Smith to newspaper comics. Genre doesn't really matter to me.

For me, Genre is more of a marketing tool. It helps me find what I like but does not limit what I like.

Thank you! And well said about genres being a sort of guide to look for new works of particular styles. Really useful way to look at genres.
