I was recently flipping through a few facebook pages that people have set up about sharing art on facebook.
Fantasy Art | Facebook
Fantasy Realm ~~ Pictures of all kinds | Facebook
Gothic & fantasy art | Facebook
And even the Mythic Scribes facebook page.
Are they breaking copyright laws by hosting images on their own page instead of "Sharing" them from the artist's page? Or does Facebook's Terms of Agreement give people the right to rehost an image? What's the industry norm / code of ethics about this?
I suppose it's possible some of them are doing so with permission of the artist, but I doubt that all of them are.
I've put this in the Marketing forum because resharing this kind of content is a positive way of increasing the value of your facebook page and promoting your work, if you can do so ethically.
