E.C. Henry says hello here at Mythic Scribes for the first time

Hello my name is Eric Christopher Henrikson who writes under the pseudonym of E.C. Henry. I am a 55 year old writer, who currently lives in NE Tennessee.

I've been working on an epic fantasy series of books since the early 1990s, and am hoping that 2025 is the year I get the published.

I have been looking for a community to belong to for a long time. For the past 10+ years I've been a regular commenter on Carson Reeves Scriptshadow, but the gang there is into screenwriting for feature movies at TV series.

One of the reasons I'm not published yet is I kept getting new ides for movies and have been writing them since the year 2000. I'm up to 31 spec. scripts written now -- one of which is the first movie adaptation of A Legend of Thars, my epic fantasy series.

Looking forward to meeting new writers and seeing what goes on around here.

Sincerely,

E.C. Henry from Kingsport, TN

Hello!
I thought I recognised the name. Just realised I subscribe to your Youtube Channel :)
Thanks. I haven't used U-Tube in YEARS. Once upon a time I was trying to get Taylor Swift to bite on a rom-com series I wrote FOR HER, so I did a dance skit to her song "Getaway Car" off her Reputation album.

Looks forward to communicating with you, lanto; and ay others so inclined. :)

Howdy EC Henry, Welcome here.
Really great start with your webpage, P. Pherson Green. Look forward to reading your book, The Eye of Ebon! Sounds like you've been at this a while. Looking forward to getting to know you better as time moves on. Will put a link your site off my Typepad blogsite.

Welcome aboard. I got close enough to H'Wood to run like hell a lot of years ago, LMAO.
I've never been "afraid" of Hollywood. I'm definitely not liberal enough for them. Would never play the pronouns game with anyone.

Writing screenplays is that tough. Lotta software out there makes is relatively easy.

Most of my webpage came from a template, and I had looked at others before I started on it. Dems, above, was one I looked at for how it might display. I took the black and white photo from him ;)

Really, I just want it to be functional. Which, I think, mostly it is. Least for a beginner and a first book.

I hope you enjoy it, and leave feedback somewhere. So many people read, and so few go leave a review.

There are reasons to run other than fear. My sensation was more of an "I don't want any part of this." It was a giant clusterflubber, and it only got worse. I was on the cusp long before the pronoun madness, LOL. It's really much the same as I see in Big 5 Publishing, which is saddening.

Yeah, when I lived in the Seattle area I tries several times to connect with big publishers. Very hard to do. They're very distant people, the NY crowd. Still, I'm an entertainer at heart. Hoping to get my epic fantasy novel series published sooner rather than later. Some things are in your control. Some things out.

Hopefully this is a good community to be in. Thanks for taking the time to talk to me, Demesnedoir.

I'm a control freak, so indie works for me. If some big house comes knocking, I'll listen because money talks, LMAO. For good or ill I've turned down a couple of smaller agencies and publishers—I sometimes wonder how smart that was, but oh, well. I've got an urban vampire fantasy screenplay that had some serious producer attention waaaaay back when—before Twilight—that I'd like to novelize, and that would be serious movie bait. The siren call would be impossible to resist, but I no longer hunt the sirens. So to speak.

You should find plenty of good stuff on these forums.

Kingsport, hell yeah. I've been all over that country. I'm north Alabama, mid-state.

Glad you found us! Looking forward to seeing some of your work. Welcome!

If they were open to print-only deals and I felt they had a decent chance to move a decent nr of copies, then the amount of money would need to be a lot smaller than with ebook rights included.

Welcome, Eric (E.C. Henry)! It’s awesome to see someone with such dedication to their craft. An epic fantasy series in the works since the ‘90s? That’s impressive! And 31 spec scripts? You’ve got serious range. This community sounds like a great fit for you to connect with fellow writers and finally get that epic fantasy series out into the world. Looking forward to seeing your journey here, 2025 could be your year!
