I've heard of Malcom Pryce before, I should check him out! I also really like Stephen Lawhead's Paradise War series, and I like Brandon Mull's Fablehaven, and although the writing is much less advanced than Tolkein or Lawhead, the characters are very fun and the story is engaging!

Welcome to Mythic Scribes Clara Atsinger, glad you found us too. I can probably say that Tolkien expanded my formative imagination further and more richly than anyone else, so good call.

Welcome Clara! Oh I loved Fablehaven. It was a large part of my reintroduction/rediscovery of middle grade fantasy some years back and is still a sentimental favorite.
