Hey Guys! Newbie here!

Hello! I'm Wilderb33st!

So I figured I'd join here. I have been envisioning my own fantasy world ever since I was about 8 years old, I am now 21, and whenever I get a spare moment, I've been thinking of my world. I will mention details in a later thread, with some ideas and for opinions and thoughts on my ideas!

I joined mainly to get ideas and feedback from people. I appreciate some people can be mean, but I browsed the net for a Fantasy Writing forum, and all you guys here, seem a lot more friendly than others. I saw some threads in other forums where people who have some good ideas, just get slated rather than constructive criticism or feedback - which it would seem I will find here!

I've actually recently required a huge leather bound blank journal, and learnt the art of calligraphy, where I am documenting the history of my world, the races, icon figures and so on. I think my idea is alright, maybe could use a bit of work here and there, so just hoping you guys are all friendly, maybe like my ideas, and help me out where possible, tell me what you think!

Thanks guys! I look forward to speaking to you guys, and even reading all your ideas!

Welcome to Mythic Scribes! This is a great community and I'm sure you'll feel right at home. I only recently joined and I'm glad I did. Hope to hear more from you in the forums, and can't wait to read about your world. :)

Hello and welcome Wilderb33st
We specialise in friendly - in fact I think its written down somewhere "Be Nice":p
I like the idea of your leather journal.
My one suggestion [that you've probably worked out already] - before you write anything in it... practice it and lay it out lots of times before to get it right.
I want to have a leather journal like you see Indiana Jones holding, worn, battered and lots of notes and diagrams ans scraps of paper... now I just have to become an archaeology professor in the 1920/30...
Hope you enjoy the craic.

Cool - calligraphy! Do you tend toward a blackletter-inspired style, or are you more of a unicals guy?

I HAD a journal, handmade and everything, that I used to keep notes for writing in, plus a couple of maps that I was rather proud of, but it disappeared as long time ago. *sigh*

The professors don't have any fun. Or at least, the archaeologists with PhD's don't have any fun, stuck in classrooms and offices and hardly ever getting out in the field. On the other hand, grad students get to do lots of stuff... Alas, much of that stuff is digging in the dirt under a hot sun.
