Motivation & Atmosphere

Two key ingredients to successful writing.
What motivates you to write? What do you do when that motivation flags?
What do you surround yourself with to encourage your writing?
For me, I need white noise, like from a fan, and often have the TV on for background noise.

I don't know who came up with the term, but what I always do is "re-immersion". I go back to watch the movies and play the games that inspired me to want to make a story of my own. It usually doesn't take long to get back the spark and remember what I wanted to do.

I'll listen to music that inspires scenes while my inspiration is low. Also, I'll play around with scenes like a movie until I find out what it is that comes next in my writing. When I'm actually writing, most of the time I write with common noise that we tend to forget about such as classmates talking, paper shuffling, and so on so forth.
