My magic system

Its a hard magic system that is used in my Kirby au. It affects many things where it is present, including the environment and evolution of organisms. Its important in some of my spec bio. Its on my Tumblr already, so I'll give a link to that post. Here's The magic system. Its kind of a long read. I'd like to know what people think about it.

I think you could post the whole system here. Its not really that long.

This system really has the added complexity that the source is from some essence through a dimensional rift, and access to the source material (mana?) is harder or easier to access depending on proximity and degree of access to the rift.

I wonder if the aspect that his is related to the mind layer really makes this magic, or maybe something like ordinary Paranormal stuff (ESP, Telekinesis, Etc.) Since the mind is so heavily involved, its might feel more like psionic power and not magic--though functionally, it would be the same.

This is not dissimilar to my own magic system. I don't have rifts and mind components, but I do have places where the energy pools and proximity to them, and strength of energy in the pool can enhance or make difficult the life of a spell caster.

I love that you not only explain the "fantastical", but also expalin the everyday fantastical that we all take for granted (e.g. incorporating autotrophs and the basic idea brains as "rifts" to a dimention as an explnation of consciousness).
I am guessing that you put a lot of thought into this and the self-consistency suggests that most of your ideas ended up on 'the cutting-room floor'. Am I correct in assuming that, for every idea that you have in this system, several ideas were tried and, later, edited out to make the system streamlined and self-consitent?

I guess the biggest change I did was deciding that magic should come with its own energy instead of pulling it from the environment surrounding the magic dimension rift as it emerges. Other than that I don't recall.
