Need a Break?

It seems that my imagination on my novels is starting to dull and my dialogs and scenes are becoming boring. I think part of this problem comes from the fact that I may be writing TOO much and I am really just tired of writing.

I'm thinking on going on a "vacation", mainly just putting my novel to the side and let my mind relax; maybe play some music gigs, write some music, even learn to play guitar, pretty much anything but writing for a few weeks.

What do you think?

Seems like a good idea if you're feeling like you're getting burnt out on writing. I myself have had that problem and it actually took me more than a year to start writing again. If the writing comes to you, use it, but don't force it to come when it's unwilling. During the time I didn't write I read a lot, which made me get tons of story ideas. I used those ideas in flash fiction and short stories. Something not so tedious as a novel. :)
