So the Salt Cay Writer's Retreat is a well known educational gathering where aspiring authors and new authors can get together with agents, editors and writers to both network and improve their work. It really is a great way to improve your craft and advance your writing career, and hanging in the Bahamas and swimming with the dolphins is not so bad either.
The other cool thing they have is podcasts from faculty members that tackle various issues of craft and the industry. I listened to the latest one by Lee Child yesterday and it was great. It was vintage Lee, and while the topic was momentum, he went much farther afield than that. The agent who interviewed him is no slouch either.
