Today is International Pixel-Stained Technopeasant Day

For those of you who don't know what the heck that is, there's a summary on my site:

https://www.eviscerati.org/commenta...ernational-pixel-stained-technopeasants-unite

For those who are in TL,DR mode, the short version:

1. In 2007 the VP of the SFWA posted on the SFWA Livejournal Pages, ranting about the state of the writing profession, complaining that people who wrote and posted stories on the Internet for free were "webscabs," and ultimately called them "pixel-stained technopeasants."

2. Jo Walton, another author and SFWA member, thought the phrase was amusing and branded April 23 "International Pixel Stained Technopeasants day" and called on authors to post professional-quality on the web for free every April 23.

3. Everyone thought this was hilarious and started doing it.

Of course there are a number of people (webfiction authors, webcomic authors) who do this every day, but it's nice to have an official day for it.

So happy IPST day! That is all.
