Trying to publish a novel this year!

Hello all! I've been writing for the vast majority of my life trying to write books when I was eight years old (they were terrible) and I finally am closing in on having a rough draft of a book which I'm trying to finish at the end of February or early March. My goal is to edit and publish it by May which is very ambitious, but I think I can do it. So glad to be joining this writing community, for the most part what I need help with is sword fighting scenes and scenery description!

When you finish the rough draft, set it aside and work on something else for a month or so. Then, reread your tale. You are almost certain to find plenty of issues that need fixing. Welcome to rewrite time. Your second draft may take almost as long as the first draft to write...and likely you are looking at a third rewrite, plus multiple editing passes as well.
