WisCon 2015?

I know it's more for SF writing/fandom, but there's quite a bit of crossover into fantasy stuff as well. I was wondering if anyone was going or had gone recently?

It's a bit of a hike for me from Australia. ;) But I will be attending my local speculative/fandom convention in early June. It will be my third year attending, and I find it invigorating, inspiring and energising. I'm a mad panel attendee, because I love to sit and listen to people discussing interesting topics (and let ideas and different viewpoints germinate and cross-pollinate in my creative well), but I have friends who prefer to spend the weekend socialising with other fans and find that just as invigorating.

I expect to have a notebook full of ideas and things to consider when I get back, as I did when I came back from the book festival last month. I had a hard time trying to figure out what all I want to do, as I'm interested in so much...and two of the gaming things that I want to go and do are at the same time, so I'm trying to figure out what the etiquette of the situation is.

Do I sign up for both and then let the moderator/gaming facilitator know that I'm probably going to be wandering off at some point? Or do I just quietly slip away?

And for the parties, how gauche is it to come during the last hour? Because I wanna check in to the Cyberpunk disco thing, but my schedule won't open up until close to midnight-ish.

Any tips, anyone?

I can't wait for the fiber arts circle, as there I'm totally within my element and I know all about talking to other knitters/needle art crafters. Although, I'm afraid I'll only be able to take my "boring" knitting--as my Firefly Browncoat in progress is in storage somewhere and the yarn is missing.

And the rest of my schedule is overbooked, as well. I think I have time to sleep, but that may be more like "naps" to fuel me through four days of idea gathering and socializing. :)
