writers and responsibility -- my apology for closing the thread down

I just wanted to apologise for the 'c.p.' example I used on an earlier thread, which caused it to be closed down. I had no intention whatsoever to get into discussions about it as such, and was trying (grossly) to illustrate a point. It was a poor choice of example.

You don't need to apologize. It wasn't out-of-context within the discussion, but it then rapidly became the discussion.

Personally, I think it's a good idea to avoid those kinds of sensitive topics and trigger words except with great care because they force people to react, and those reactions aren't always the ones you're expecting when you bring it up. And those reactions can be surprising for people sometimes because there's a greater diversity in where people are coming from in life here than you might see in your typical social circle.
