Editing Software

Addison

Auror
Even if you have a Bachelor's or Master's, or any degree in English or Creative Writing or a similar degree, it will be difficult to edit your own work. That's why a lot of writers look for a professional editor. Whether you already know a person or find one on Writer's Digest, or here on Mythic Scribes, they cost money. But if you want them to edit and critique the story itself, you want your story to be as clean and clear as possible. No grammar problems, clear continuity. You'll want them to focus on the story and not get sidetracked or hip-checked by grammar problems.

I highly recommend "Hemingway Editor" and "Prowriting Aid". They each offer help to find and correct difficult sentences, paragraphs, repetition, sticky sentences and readability. You can run individual scenes, problem scenes, or your entire story. If it's a novel, do it piece by piece. That way your story is as clean and clear as possible before you send it to a professional editor.
