Does anyone have experience with the Amazon marketing services? I have very recently gone live with my first book so I don't have any word of mouth or return readers.

I would feel cheated at 2.99 for 25k. Like it was said by others that would take me less time to read than watch a movie. However if the story and writing was outstanding, I would forgive you.
I'm not sure if they are cliches but what bothers me is the over doing of the foreign aspects of a world. I speak English not elvish or orcish etc. I don't need half a paragraph of gibberish to get the idea they speak a different language. I also find made up obscenities tiresome.

I am a new writer and I have found my voice changes slightly with different character points of veiw. I try to become the character who's point of veiw I'm writing so the narrative, not just dialogue, changes slightly.
Is a change in voice within the same book a bad thing?
I have found naming, people and places, the most difficult thing to do while writing. Partly because unpronounceable names are a pet peave of mine. Having an inadvertent pause in your reading, everytime a poorly conceived name comes by, is irritating .
