Caliburn
I've been interested in creating fantasy worlds ever since I read the Fabled Lands series of gamebooks as a child. Those books had a profound impression on me!!!
My project is currently dispersed within a giant stack of notebooks. I'm trying to slowly chip away at turning these nascent ideas into a coherent world--a thing--but I am so finicky I can't nail anything down! I dare say I could use some encouragement.
I realised the other day that I've never had any desire to be a published author or to pursue writing as a career. If I could call myself anything it would be a fantasy worldbuilding enthusiast, something I am delighted to find is quite a common passion among other people here.
Simply having a fictional world--or even parts of it--ready to be shared with friends and anyone who is interested would be so cool!
So, I am eager to discuss the art/craft/science of fantasy world-building with you fine folks. Feel free to drop me a line if you want to chat--you'll find I'm almost annoying friendly
I hang out in the worldbuilding sub-forum almost exclusively at the moment since I don't know a thing about writing fiction.
Hopefully I can get to know some of you better
worldbuilding, songwriting, comic books, roleplaying games, history, symbolism, all that jazz...
