I watched Cry's playthrough of it before watching season 4 of Game of Thrones. Sansa's and Mira's stories got mixed up in my brain. I had to untangle them a bit.
It's okay. I haven't been reading much fiction lately. The fiction I'm reading isn't even fantasy, so I have no suggestions for the group.
Hopefully, participation picks up again.
Mwahaha! :bat:
Alright, I'll say up front, I'm very biased. Horror influences my writing more. Also, some of my thoughts here are unrefined.
Thrillers often have a time element, a ticking clock. The pacing matters a lot more, and readers/viewers experience a sort of headlong momentum–or in...
They didn't seem smart. Plus, it was cash. Wouldn't it be hard to prove they robbed her? And one could blame the other for the robbery while trying to get the reward. They hardly knew each other.
I doubt they knew it was her, though.
I might've liked this book from Boney's perspective.
Sorry, Phil. I meant to reply to this. Better late than never, right?
I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt that way. It's strange to realize the character I like more (or dislike less, to be accurate) is somehow less readable.
I hadn't even thought of that. Those people totally...
:frown2::cry::stomp:
I form nostalgic attachments to movies like The Wizard of Oz, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
They should remake crappy movies into good ones, not vice versa. That takes more skill. There's not as much of an inbuilt audience for a...
Maybe I'd like the book better if less was held back in the beginning. I understand it's for suspense! and mystery!, but the scarcity of enjoyable characters put me off enough that, had it not been for the reading group, I'd have quit. I also felt cheated a few chapters in since things were...
1. What do you think of Nick's character? Does he come off strange or aloof?
I liked Nick better than Amy, or at least I found him the more relateable of the two until Amy's diary entry for July 5th, 2010. He doesn't seem fully engaged. It's like he's an actor in his own life. His disclosure...
Maybe we can discuss the book at the end of June? There could be a cutoff post in the thread after which there will be spoilers. I don't like the idea of a separate thread since this thread seems set up for discussion.
I finally finished the book. I have things to say now. :nerd:
1. Dangerous Women (I want SM-Dreamer to be able to participate.)
2. The Weird
I know I've recommended The Weird before, but I didn't finish it. :o It's a bit unwieldy because of its size, but I liked the stories I read. As interesting as it sounds, Tales Before Tolkien isn't available at...
