I agree with what's been said above - not exactly a cliffhanger, as it doesn't feel like there's a "will he or won't he" question here (it might be a cliffhanger if it ended in the middle of your second-to-last bullet point, when he's on the verge of death and has a choice about what to do...

Hello :). I'm new here! So, I revitalized my nano novel on Friday after two dead weeks and have it up to 24k from 15k...okay, still a long way to go, but I think 50k by this Friday is still doable! I have fallen out of love with this novel but I wanted to keep pushing because I need to teach...

As a reader I think it would be most satisfying if the few chapters when the do interact are at the climax of the story, so I can envision the coming circumstances as I read. If they never met, or only did in some unimportant way, I would probably be disappointed.
