    Writing characters I do not like. Anyone else have this problem?

    Why not have someone else write that character? Lots of really great films have multiple writers and that's because each writer brings his or her own perspective and way of thinking into it.

    I think most people do it to try and get published, make a movie etc. But I think alot of people also do it as a form of release / catharsis. I think the best writing really does come from having something to say.

    Science Fiction vs. Fantasy

    They are MUCH, MUCH more alike than you assume. Especially when it comes to writing. They're both manifestations of the same function. In fantasy, when you want someone to appear it's in a puff of smoke; in sci-fi it's via a transporter.
