There are already a lot of posts about there of ideas, etc. The gist is, it doesn't happen. The story you and I would write based off the same ideas would be very different. Plus it is a lot of work writing, stealing or copying just isn't worth it.

With self published ebooks, depending on distribution means, edits post release become possible but certainly not recommend, especially heavy overhauls. I would not like much more than punctuation or spelling corrections. Altering the actual story post edit, no way, that would really tick me off...

Oh, forgot to mention one thing I love about the Kindle. I can email my manuscript to my kindle email address, and it shows up on my device, mostly formatted correctly. It makes reviewing really easy.
