First off, thanks Hans for the fighting of my corner :) lol
As to your question Paladin, the world in which the story is set in is encased in "magic", kind of like an invisible bubble. The goddess of "magic" (it's rarely actually called this; usually just called abilities) decided it was time...
For the story that's currently squatting in my mind, no one will show any signs of having an aptitude for "magic" and none will be able to use said magic randomly or by accident. To use the so called "magic" in this story idea of mine, one must be sufficiently trained by an already accomplished...
Holy sh*t, that sounds like the highest degree of awesome. I think this site should host a yearly get-together, and your lair should be the meeting place lol Get those pics up. :)
I'm a Jedi :) Haha just kidding, though I think it's bloody awesome that a real life religion has come out of a science fiction film series.
For me, I guess I'm an atheist. I just can't willingly let myself put all my beliefs into something that can never and will never be proven, especially...
All are great so far. Keep coming back and tossing more up when you think of one :)
Ravana, I particularly like this one of yours:
"History doesn’t like to repeat itself. So it speaks louder each time it’s forced to."
I could easily see one of my own characters saying something like that.
I like that Donny, a lot actually :) Keep 'em coming.
Here's the third and final one from me.
I was literally just writing some plot outlines for a new story idea and thought of a line one of my main antagonists would use...
Keep them coming people. I find it horrifying that only 6 have shared their brilliance on this thread lol
C'mon, we're writers after all. So get writing! ;)
Here's another addition by me:

Life is a gift, not a burden.
Some get their gifts taken from them.
A...
It's difficult for me to say just how original I am in my writing. I mean, I use no orcs, elves, dwarves or anything like that. However the race of creatures I've created take over the night and force people to hide each time dusk comes around; that theme is by no means scarce in books nowadays...
Welcome Aiden, good to have you here.
How much of a shock must it have been to find that something you had given up on for ten whole years is in fact now selling on Amazon. Big congratulations.
I'm well aware Mr. Dragon, hence the smiley face after it, but thankyou so much for the grammar lesson ;) Your comment actually made me smile, and rest assured, I read it as a joke.
I think you should "worldbuild" as much as you desire. In fact, often I get more pleasure out of planning the novel and thinking up all of the great possibilities of the world than I do out of actually writing the thing :) However, don't fall into the trap of bombarding your readers with...
Haha, why the bad feeling then eh??
I like your first one. Made me smile.
Here's my addition:
"Life is like writing; tearing up draft after draft in the pursuit of perfection.
One can only hope when it’s finished, what you wrote is deemed worth reading."
Now c'mon people. Don't be shy, get...
So, I thought it might be fun to see just how creative this community of writers really is. As such, I figured I'd create this thread and invite you all to write a quote or few that you, yourselves have thought up.
You may know that Starconstant created a "favourite quotes" thread a while back...
