Expectations for Editors
I expect to provide feedback on all of the following:
A cover sheet to answer:
Did you understand and follow the plot? Did you think the Plot was a lure that brought the reader seamlessly through the tale? Or did you feel the plot was lost, confusing, not present, or weak in some way? Was there something that you felt could have improved the plot?
Characterization:
Did you like the MC and wish to follow them? Were they portrayed in an enjoyable way? Did you fear for their safety? What was compelling about them, and what was not? Would you want to read more about them?
What did you think of other characters? Which did you like, and which could use improvement?
Setting:
Was the setting presented in such a way that it was real to the characters, and understood by the reader? Was the setting ever vivid enough that it might engage the readers own five senses? Was it relatable and understandable as to how setting might influence the characters actions throughout the tale? Could setting have been improved?
Theme:
Where you able to detect what might be themes that are present in the story. Were they worthy themes to pursue, in your opinion? Were they presented in a way that did not distract from the main tale? Did they come on too strong, or in a way that might be considered . . 'Preachy'? or Where the themes important enough, that a lack of subtlety was justified?
Conflict:
Was the Conflict of the story present and understood? Did it remain a driving force for the characters, both the Protagonists? and the Antagonists? Did the stakes seem sufficiently high? And did they rise as the story progressed in a satisfying way? Did the conflict reach a satisfying climax at the end? Was the conflict resolved in a way that made the story feel complete and in line with the stories purpose?
And POV:
Did you find the POV's in the story consistent, or were there areas where you felt POV discipline became lax, or wrong for the particular scene or groups of scenes.
***Issues of Mechanics (Grammar, Punctuation, and Spelling), and Structure (Organization, Clarity, Coherence, Unity...) should be addressed in the line edits of the manuscript itself. But the editor needs to know, I expect more than just line edits.

Expectations for Editors
I expect to provide feedback on all of the following:
A cover sheet to answer:
- The Editor must answer the question: Did you like the tale?
- Editor needs to answer the question, Is the book worthy? Worthy for publication, worthy for putting in a lot more effort? Worthy in regards to other books in the series?
- A more in depth answer might include what they liked in particular and what they didn't like.
- A cover sheet or write up should also include some comments on the literary elements, such as:
Did you understand and follow the plot? Did you think the Plot was a lure that brought the reader seamlessly through the tale? Or did you feel the plot was lost, confusing, not present, or weak in some way? Was there something that you felt could have improved the plot?
