I don't have a set time or schedule, but I do try to write every day. I probably do my best work at night, cause I'm a bit nocturnal. Going online to read about writing-related topics can always help "inspire" me to put thoughts to word document.
I was being satirical. It was a play on those pumpkin spiced lattes, cross with smashed avacado on toast -- a popular combination amongst the millenial culture.
I feel your pain. I started the first draft of my new WIP yesterday and noticed I'm lacking in description. It's currently a mix of character dialogue and world-building. Thing is, many readers get frustrated and bored with long detailed descriptions of the interior of a palace, for instance. Or...
I love diving into massive, fleshed out fantasy worlds. Even if the author drones on about the colour of a character's dress for a whole chapter. ;) I also enjoy big battles and complex characters and plot lines.
Any recommendations?
Excellent post! I agree with everything here. My late mother had that old school way of thinking. Instead of "wasting" money she budgeted and got bargains, had the pantry stocked with tinned goods. She even hoarded cash, had a hidden spot that she kept from my dad. One day when they truly needed...
Hello! I'm sort of new (registered ages ago, haven't been around much) and while I would love to help I'm afraid that I have trouble with these things myself. It takes an excruciatingly long time for me to pull together some names for places, characters, everything. I often use...
I think people are starting to become stir-crazy, I can hear people yelling and carrying on, they sound drunk. Having to stay indoors doesn't bother me all. It's not really much different than what I'd be doing anyway :p it's those obnoxious, social animals that are the most dangerous in...
I think so.
I've always had a chaotic relationship with writing. I have a mood disorder, so when things to turn to excrement in my day to day life, writing goes out the door and I can go months without doing it. It's been four months since I've written, and after such a long time, it's hard to...
I am torn between three types of media; TV series (including anime), video-games, and literature. I enjoy all three equally because I simply cannot decide which one I enjoy the most.
However much I partake in these three things, depends entirely on my mood. Often, if I am feeling brain-dead due...
Ha, I am actually taking a break from the WoT at the moment. It is very overwhelming.
I finished Fires of Heaven and am now reading something different. Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson.
One of my writing goals is to write a series as immersive and as engrossing as Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time, or Tad Williams' Memory, Sorrow and Thorn.
During my research across the internet, I came across on multiple occasions, that publishers are not interested in books that are...
I found this place via google search as well. I was looking for a writing community that may be able to help me keep writing, rather than spit the dummy and give up as I normally do.
