    Mages and staffs

I thought the scenes in Return of the King where Gandalf used his staff as a weapon were well done - even when it was just giving Denethor a well needed whack over the head! :)

    Random thoughts

I'd like to hear your thoughts on the class. I was very impressed by The Way of Kings and his classes on youtube - doing a class with him would be a dream come true. I like his thoughts on writing success - its not about having a great idea, talent or luck (although these all help) - its all...

    Dragon Age: Inquisition

Hi again Sheila :) Its such a pity the crashing is happening and its probably a wise move to sell the game if it keeps doing this. There are still plenty of other great PS3 games around - I've heard that Dragon Age 2 is a very good game. Also The Last of Us and the Tomb Raider from a few...

    What Are You Playing Now?

After playing Alien Isolation twice in a row and the DLCs I've been playing Dragon Age Inquisition and loving it. I tried playing a bit of Fallout 4 but struggled to get into it. The next game I'm looking forward to is Tomb Raider once it comes out on PS4. I loved the previous version on the...

    Dragon Age: Inquisition

Hi Sheila. A belated happy birthday and I hope you manage to get the PS4 soon and can play DAI without those crashes! I started playing DAI a little while ago and recently had some leave from work so have played it more. Its a wonderful game, feels very much like the Mass Effect series with...

    What are you Reading Now?

I'm taking a break from reading classics to start Ship of Magic by Robin Hobb. I've heard good things about her and I feel in the mood for a well written fantasy - like a good cup of coffee :) btw I've enjoyed reading the classics History of the Peloponnesian War, The Histories and The Aeneid-...

    Writing children realistically?

I have two boys - one aged 10 and one 3. The 10-12 year age bracket is a very interesting one - children have one leg in childhood and one in adolescence. My 10 year old is starting to be interested (obsessed) with girls and finds teenage themes engaging, yet sometimes he just wants to be a...

    What are you Reading Now?

The Dragonbone Chair was plodding but it was one series where I very much believed the massive development in the protagonist - so much happened to him and he reflected so much that it made sense where he ended up and how he interacted with the protagonist in the finale, which was critical to...

    What are you Reading Now?

I finally dumped The Stand about 800 pages in - its taking far to long to get anywhere. I know it was meant to be the expanded version but I couldn't handle it anymore. I'm now reading Virgil's The Aeneid and loving it - its quick to read and engaging. Also interesting to read something 2000...

    E3 2015

I agree with Philip, for me a clear attraction with PS4 is the RPGs - I loved The Last of Us. I was sad to hear that PS4 wont have the backwards compatibility of Xbox One - however the good news is that Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls will be coming to PS4 - thank goodness! I haven't played...

Destiny - Playing the Space and Fantasy Adventure

The missions do get ridiculously hard after a while and the best way to deal with them is to get a fireteam together - that way you have 2 friends working with you to bring down the baddies. Its such a popular game that there are bound to be players around your level who you can team up with. :)

Destiny - Playing the Space and Fantasy Adventure

Hey Sheila sorry this has taken a while. I haven't played Destiny in a while but used to have a great time playing it with my son. He knew more about online playing and answered your questions as follows: You make a friend by going close to a character say in the Tower and then you can...
