At the age of eight or so, I remember sitting down with a grey metal typewriter, the kind with a manual slider and white keys and ancient black ribbon, to write my first story. I put a sheet of notebook paper into it, got it prepared, and began to hunt and peck my way over the keys. I reached the end of the notebook paper page and called my masterpiece finished. I had put in periods where they needed to go, but other grammar items might have needed work. The story was about a dragon and a unicorn who became great friends instead of enemies. I was quite proud of my achievement, and my mother was impressed too. I think that was why, after a couple of "novels" later on that typewriter, when I actually did write a 200 page novel in 7th grade, she was more than willing to help me read through it and make it into a little book. I even illustrated it. She remained by biggest fan and only editor through high school and the other books I wrote.

So, I suppose that, looking back, I've been writing fantasy for quite some time. My mother has since passed on, but my father, older brother, and little sister are still alive and kicking. My dream from an early age has been to write fantasy, mostly, and the older I've become, the more I've wanted to see it become a published reality. I've wanted to live off my earnings for writing; in fact, some days I don't know that I'm quite fit for any other job! I finally self-published my first novel, Destruction's Daughter: Paths of the Innocent after picking at it for close to a decade after it had been completed. Sometimes, it's time to let go.

I was born in Lamesa, Texas. I've always lived in Texas but for a few months in between 1999 and 2000. I'm unmarried and have no children. My sister and brother are married and have produced my nieces and nephews, and one niece has produced a great-nephew. I love traveling and love to visit other places, especially overseas. I'm a certified English teacher for high school (as soon as I renew that certificate at least) and am currently working on a Master of Arts in English. I might get my Ph.D. Who knows? At this point, I'm just focused on living life. Other novels, even those early ones, edited and all, will ultimately wind up on my self-published list. I have sequels to write and new stuff always coming.
