I try to remain invisible while on holiday.
This goes down to the level of using local grocery and store bags when shopping.
I declare myself a tourist when ever I try to speak the local language.
I have been told that I give this policeman a run for his money in accent and pronunciation.
As a sort of corollary, I know 2 UK/Irish nationals that have the Irish flag on their backpack even when they are travelling on their UK passports.
For me it states "Yes, I'm a tourist but don't hate me!"
