    Camp NaNoWriMo- April and July

I've done CampNaNoWriMo twice now. Both times cabin-mates were reticent to share or encourage each other. I will still do it in April. Other Mythic Scribes are welcome to share my cabin(that sounded kind of creepy, didn't it?). I will be revising my work in progress. Like SpoonyBardon, I...

    Mythic Scribes Members on Google+

Following you back. Who's the munchkin in your profile photo? I'm assuming that's you with the beard.

What do you do with 2000 teenagers?

Personally, I think they should all be eaten by monsters. However, this is your story, not mine. The older kids might be conscripted into the military(you said this was a warlike culture). The younger ones and special needs kids might be adopted into local families.

    Weekly Chapter-by-Chapter Fantasy Writing Group

I like the idea as well. Time to bite the bullet and sign up for Facebook. Is there a minimum/maximum number of people you want in the group?

    Both Sides of the Wardrobe

Yes, it is plausible. The problem you may face is that the other world will be more interesting to your readers. This world is a trifle, um, boring? The closest thing I've seen to a dragon is a particular supervisor where I work. If I slay her I go to jail instead of gaining her hoard. If...

    Quick Punctuation Issue

As these are what the girl is imagining he said, not what the reader witnessed him saying, leave it in regular type.

The NYT probably isn't going to review my book, but it's a start

The message is, it helps to have friends who are book reviewers.

    Ask me about swords.

Anders, Would you happen to know, or have a source to research, what protective equipment was used in fencing salons of the Renaissance? Did they wear masks or helmets? Did they put blunt tips on their blades? Did they wear padded jackets like fencers do today? How did beginners keep from...

    Writing Style?

I grew up on British comedy: Monty Python, Black Adder, Benny Hill. I loved reading P.G. Wodehouse. It has definitely influenced my style which, I hope, has a dry, subtle humor with rich tannins, hints of spicy oak, and zesty overtones of citrus and crisp apples. The writers I admire and hope...

Anyone else starting to stress about NaNo?

What? Is it time for Nanowrimo already? Next, you're going to say there's an election or something going on.

    What's your muse?

As a writer, when are you not "mid-project?" When my screen is littered with chapter folders and obscure notes I left for myself, I listen to music like this to clear my head and summon the will to move forward. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8FpbsrvkTE&feature=g-vrec

    I ordered (another) sword.

Please let us know how you like the sword. Post some photos if you can, of the sword and the bodies of your enemies.

Your most welcome, Steerpike. Glad to do it. Posting the review at Smashwords is fine.

    Need help with a scene

I'm assuming it was established earlier Ariel got to keep the crown on her head. Not sure why she would take it off and throw it away as it proved such an effective weapon. I got the impression Ariel was in a fetal position on the floor as Fiachra beats her. On second reading, it seemed she...

Boy, am I late to this party. Anyhoo, my review of Steerpike's Lorelei and the Lost and Found Room Monster is on my blog. LiterateLatham
