I have been thinking about this concept for a bit and can't seem to get a grasp on it. I hope some of you might be able to share your thoughts on this kind of topic :)
Thanks !
Thank you guys. Ive finally decided on my setting. Its gonna be set in a modern world thats starting to improve its tech with futuristic phones, tanks etc, while its acknowledging magic for the first time.
Oh, yeah. Korra did provide a good example because of how they integrated magic (bending) into people's lives while other stories seem to usually give a reason why they cant mix the two worlds together. Like, theyd give reason why Mad eye wont be packing heat even though itd fit the character...
High and low magic huh? I am not really trying to fuse them all im, I just trying to properly differentiate them. What about Arcane and Sorcery? Would that be a good the two different methods of magic?
Can it also be done to humans and otherworldy beings? Like a Hell-hound and a lion or Minotaur? Can you also mix a already "Alchemized" creature with another "Achemized" creature?
Oh, and I hope you have a funny character alchemist that'll give funny names to his/her creations like"Danger...
Im trying to use all types of magic in story and i am trying to come up with a formula for it (it just came naturally) and I having a tough time calling it.
Magic used by wizards, warlock, witches, arcane users, or elemental magic, and the like from Harry Potter and Avatar to Fairy Tail and...
Strange was actually one of the inspirations for the idea, especially with the way how the can cut you if closed on you. I plan to use that concept as well for the MCs fights. However, the idea was mainly from one of the villains from Generator Rex. The way she used her portals by just throwing...
Yeah, so now I am actually torn whether to set my story with the fantasy creatures already interacting the normal world or their still hiding in it but during the progression of the story they slowly reveal themselves. Originaly, i had planned the death of the MCs lover as the main cause of the...
I had planned on making a story focused on a character with an OP portal creating powers. He would use the different properties of portals. He could open a portal at any point in space, he could move said portals after creating it, in any direction. These portals could also be entered from both...
I have realized that Japanese are doing these stuff but not really in the way iam talking about. So far I've noticed that their stuff is like a genre pretending to be the other. Like what you said (where magic is presented as a high tech thing or the other way around).
What I had in mind is...
Yeah, that works with your because of the setting i suppose and at least one of them has a need from the other one. Mine just seems cheesy and played out. Do you think the forced to be together trope is played out or does it still work? I kinda wanna try them just choosing to be together because...
Personally, iam kind of tired with the basic fantasy and scifi setting in the past (medieval) or the future (scifi). When I saw Bright, that concept of modernized fantasy setting was a breath of fresh air (although it had a LOT of stuff to be worked on). I mean how cool is it to see an high elf...
