Thanks anihow - actually, the puppet-master is using another character to divide the party while he's "unifying" it (and the dividing character doesn't know what he's doing either), all in a very complicated effort to push one of the main characters over the edge...
Eh, that probably doesn't...
Just my 2 cents - I usually try to build the character's important features/charateristics INTO something the character is doing, or into something that demonstrates the need for these traits. I find it better than, "Character A had long, curly red hair". And try something like "Character A's...
I guess I'm like Draconian. I have to write everything down - sometimes it's a really interesting character. Usually, it's just really cool plot points, and I have to create the string that ties them all together. Some stories are character driven, others are plot driven.
Like Telcontar...
“I’ve seen bravery and cowardice. I’ve come to know who a coward is. It is someone who runs away from something that he can overcome."
From my first book.
I can barely write down one story idea before a new one flashes across my brain. It doesn't matter what genre either, fantasy, sci-fi, regular drama, etc...
I'm wondering how many of you have this happen to you? Or maybe I'm just the weird one out, I usually am :P
It does get to be a bit...
I think casters sounds good - but you might have to be more specific. Like gold casters, half-casters, etc...
Your best bet is to do some research and find out what coins were called in ancient Rome or medieval Europe - there are literally hundreds of names in many languages to pick and/or...
What makes a good villain to me? Well, that depends on what the story requires for opposition. Different stories require different villains, so it all depends. I guess it all boils down to - what is the villain's motivation within the story?
Right now, I'm in love with and totally frustrated...
An old trick is to add an unexpected, non-cliched quirk - which could be a quirk or it could actually define the character. Example - a truck driver with a my little pony on his dashboard. For all we know, it could have been given to him by a niece or he could secretly be a flamer. For villains...
It'd be a tricky situation in general. Most people associated courtrooms with being boring - at least IRL people. Look at Law & Order, a good part of the episode doesn't take place in court. And those scenes that do are only because they are necessary to the plot with virtually no actual...
Thanks again, guys!
You are also right. The empath's ability isn't like a calculator with exact numbers out to ten decimal places. It isn't a complete read on a person or people. So, he could muddy that by being near a crowd. Thanks for the idea!
Legacyblade - thank you for the tips. That...
