As part of my strategy to develop an interesting secondary world, and avoid cluttering up my website with 'everything' I've created, I am currently training an AI chatbot to provide information about my world to site visitors.

Following on from Finchbearer's suggestions, you could add some subtext to the dialogue and use the female character's body language to express how she's feeling. It's an idea to keep things simple in the beginning without jumping about too many characters in a single chapter.
The cover does appear quite fantasy like. But how about redesigning the sword to make it appear more 'techy'. The contrast with the background could work.
Reading a lot and copying your favorite authors helps develop your style. Copying is how we learn everything.
Does anyone tend to critique every book as they read it? This has happened me, to the extent I don't read much anymore.

If this 'being' inhabits a secondary fantasy world, maybe base the mount on something unique to that world. If you have a magic system, can some element of that magic system be tweaked to give your angel a suitable mount?
