Thanks :). Try setting your brush effect to one of the layering effects as well, it will act differently if it is used on a flat background compared to if you draw on an opaque layer. Best to make a top layer containing a flattened image of your work and play with that, can get some really great...
Glad you like it Laurence :)
An update as well - Episode 2 is out now along with an Origins Episode, check it out!
Guardians Knot - Free Online Graphic Novel
Hey LadyofKaos,
I like it, if anything it has many dominant features which makes it a little hard to read the text.. but all a matter of preference.
Good luck with the print :)
Good to try different things.. I'd consider myself a linear thinker too.... but you can easily get caught up in the work and start to miss very basic mistakes... for art you can flip the canvas which is a neat trick, all the mistakes hit you in the face right away.
The last version was good, I'd add an outer glow to the text layer just to let it pop out a slight bit more as some of the text is merged in with the BG. Good job though
Yes is the simple answer.
Being an artist by profession I usually try to be working on 2+ projects at the same time, flipping between them gives you the 'fresh eyes' more quickly and allows you to be way more efficient in general.
Another big tip, is to find a different creative output...
I think quality of content is one thing which is inevitably going to improve.. But from book to book, maybe a case of planning the balance of dynamics in a similar fashion to keep them somewhat consistent and what the original readers expect..
