There might be 100 words of it in an entire 150k word book. Maybe one plot-relevant sentence that would be translated.
I just thought people on here might be more interesting in the subject of conlanging, especially as it related to world building. Thank you for showing me otherwise.
There are only six plots. All plots are simple. Its what you do with it that makes it interesting. Your basic overview of:
Isn't a lot less complex than "Bilbo finds a magic ring, gives it to his nephew, he throws it in a volcano" and well know how that turned out.
Your friction and tension...
I've been having some fun recently building a constructed language for my book series. Necromancers feature heavily in the storyline, their sacred language is called "Endu". The sentence structure is verb -> subject -> object, and the language makes heavy use of repeated affixes. The alphabet...
Yeah. What is even the point of using AI to generate garbage for you? If you use it, you aren't writing anymore. You aren't a writer. And I think most of us are writers, here to write.
I've got custom-built retro gaming computers tuned for everything from early-90s to late-2010s, PC and Mac...
...I spend so much time building and tuning them I never get around to actually playing any retro games.
No. It is a fact. Art is about human expression. Take the human out of the equation and you get art that is automatically bad. Or you can take the stance that "its not art" anymore, at which point why are we discussing it on an art forum?!(Writing is art).
You could post a thousand different studies and not change the core fact: generative AI art is automatically terrible by virtue of being generative AI.
I just got through setting up a windows XP machine along with a Matrox "TripleHead2Go" graphics expander. I got the original Unreal to run, completely unmodified, across 3 monitors. I'm trying The Sims2 and Crysis next.
I agree with you 1,000% and do not use any AI myself.
I' am also now demanding "NO AI" disclaimers on any media I consume. If a new show or movie comes out, I won't watch it without said disclaimer. Its not just a question of refusing to use that crap myself. If someone else used it I don't...
That's why we all need to take a firm stance: No AI in creative spaces. Period.
If there's enough community backlash people will stop. If enough people get screamed off of story website for using AI-generated garbage, the behavior will stop.
AI is a lot like the One Ring. You think you can use it because your intentions are pure. But it was made from evil, it can only do evil. It cannot create. It can only corrupt.
