    Middle Ages were not dark

Keep in mind Galileo and Copernicus were both renaissance era, not medieval dark ages

    Middle Ages were not dark

This alone is indicative of misrepresenting the topics that are being discussed. If you're arguing that the dark ages were more forward than people suspect, you shouldn't set the goal post in antiquity. Aside from that, being a republic doesn't have anything to do with a whether there is a...

Anybody care to share their map?

@RedAngel I have to tell you that your territory animation is one of the coolest things I've ever seen fantasy map-wise. It's like the imagination candy that satisfies all of my desires in life. It's straight up radicool, yo Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G928A using Tapatalk

Very Poor and Crudely Drawn World Maps

If you can get your hands on a copy of Adobe illustrator, it'll work wonders compared to paint. If you work at, or attend school, you should be able to get a discount subscription. That's what I'm currently using, and even though I mostly use a writing tablet now, making a map is completely...

    Dimensional Travel and Fantasy Realms

In a series I'm currently mapping out in extent, a race of intelligent organisms was able to develop technologically enough to manifest their intelligences outside of their own stimulated universe into the one the series takes place in. Don't know if that helps inspire you in any way, but it's...

    The world known as Noches.

I do not like this response, particularly because instead of creating something constructive from what I've said, you've spent the whole post on justifying, making assumptions, and trying to make attacks on me as a person, and not my views themselves. I'm going to reiterate one last time in...

    The world known as Noches.

I personally don't like the usage of magic as an end all solution to the fact that complex life wouldn't of formed on its own under these conditions. Maybe there was one a sun, maybe the world is heated by geothermal energy, ect. Maybe the races developed from work from a higher class species...

    Year system + counting years

Eras in my story are based on major events and leadership through the timeline. For instance, when a group of intellectual mystics try to forge peace on the world, the Era of Mystics lasted a more than a thousand years and each one relinquished power once a major goal for the world was achieved...

    Too many sentient races

I just want to point out there are many mammals elephants, bonobos, dolphins, ect. That are sentient and even birds who are as well. We've even been able to exchange language with other species (look up Coco the gorilla), and many animals could be considered to live in their own stone age...

Ground level forest cities built around and between trees, rather than tree house cit

I'd recommend researching kingdoms that have existed in these environments to help figure out how the environment effects them. not to base anything off them, but to take how society evolves to function there into consideration. I think the Ojibwa kingdom would be good, or maybe even the Iroquois.

Anybody care to share their map?

Yeah. Initially with a mouse but then I went back to add details with a pen and tablet. I took tectonics into consideration, as well as major events and dual planethood, so you'll be able to see where a few of my fault lines are and maybe make some other observations about it.

Anybody care to share their map?

This first picture shows an incomplete political map of the south eastern end of the globe, during a period known as the 'Mystic's Era'. All of the colored domains north of the Neutral Wildlands of Itvul belong to a humanoid species known as the Doth, who migrated to the world as Denisovans...

    Why Dragons Halt Progress

I haven't seen that movie, but I just added it to my watchlist for later. That sounds like a good idea. If you're making them smaller, I wouldn't write them as hyperintelligent, but smarter than the average animal is a good idea. Something the size of a wyvern would greatly benefit from pack...

    Why Dragons Halt Progress

It's very likely that in a world where dragons, assuming they attacked humans and their settlements for whatever reasons; hunger, being Dick's, ect... that human society would realistically evolve on the defensive, and not on the offensive. They would live in fortified locations, such as...

    Do you create other humanoids/races?

I do make humanoid races, but most of the time, they evolved from humans. For instance, the first sapiens to venture to my world was denisovans (which died out around the same time as neanderthals), who migrated to the world 30+ thousand years ago, and evolved separately and appear less human...
