    Nothing pithy comes to mind

Thanks for the welcome TRW and ADIR. The only cat in my pajamas is me. And dusk is falling. Should I be afraid?? :)

    Agents and/or Publishers

AgentQuery.com is a good way to find agents who are interested in your genre, includes lists of authors they represent and books published by those authors. It's a good resource for query letter advice, rather sucessful examples and critiques. I'm planning on submitting to Tor and to agents...

    Publishing Fears/Thoughts

I'm finding the query letter difficult to create. I'm not afraid of the rejection so much as sending out queries and synopses that don't reflect my novel as I hope. Is there a thread or section that deals with critiquing queries and synopses?

    Should I?

Useful visual aides and organizing tools. Depending on your level of need and desire for sophistication (otherwise known as TMI) it will help keep you focused, interested and working on your book, especially during those times the words aren't flowing.

    Magic: Will or Wands?

Clarifying (to yourself) the point or the position magic holds in relation to your world, society, characters and plot will help you define the best type of magic (will vs. object) for your story and world. What do you need magic to do - is it limiting (only certain people have access) or is it...

    Opening Scene...

As mentioned, within the first paragraph(s) you must "hook" your reader. What this entails can be teaser info/statements that induce them to ask why or wonder what currently unknown circumstances have previously transpired to put you main character in said situation or to make such a statement...
