Hey, not sure how much you read/skipped over. Obviously as I pointed out, I'm not interested in the costs of coins. The sizes would be similar, naturally the more expensive, the thicker, just for satisfaction.
Yeah, maybe I should of pointed out there are no paypal accounts in my world, or...
Hey guys,
I received some real insightful responses on the other thread, so just thought I'd ask you guys how you handle currency issues in your fantasy worlds? Do you literally ignore it, or do you make it up as you go along?
I've been working on my currency and have discovered a fairly...
The way I figure it, theres a huge ass army with cannons. The 9 countries that surround the army have no cannons, no magic or slaves at the moment. So they literally need huge armies to deter the eventual invasion from the huge ass army with cannons. The thinking is, the country who has the...
Hey thanks guys, really appreciate it. Always thought it was an interesting little part of stories. My world does have elite classes like Knights, but the general enlisted men will literally be 14 year old boys up to 40 who have been enlisted in a fairly wealthy society to protect the borders...
So, 2%-4% is higher than the average, seeing as the Imperial army was never more than 1%. Brilliant, the average here seems to be 1%, so in my world it's clearly more designed for war :P. It's good because I want situations where people argue the cost of so many troops, but then have to shut up...
Hey Reaver.
It's going to be interesting, because I have two simultaneous situations which will effect the 9 nations I'm focusing on. Magic will be introduced to a limited set of characters (and therefore nations). This changes the status quo(?), which is then not evened out but further...
Hey guys,
was wondering if I could get some advice. In Destin'th, my world, it's split essentially into 5 continents, 3 which feature in the near future of my book/s. There are 3 countries to each continent, all pretty rich and evenly split with resources. No real deserts/rainforests in the 3...
You could embrace the idea, personally I think it sets you up for lots of growth for the character and even gives you an ongoing conflict with the audience, deciding whether you like a character or not is sometimes far more rewarding that being told you like them, or should do.
I'm pretty unforgiving when people describe gay people in my book. Purely because the characters there are uncomfortable with it, and it is taboo. They don't go 'He's gay' they're either edging around it 'He isn't interested in you, perhaps you should introduce him to your brother instead?' or...
I read the GOT books that were released first, and loved them. I watched each season as they came out, and loved them too. I can compromise, as long as it's good and enjoyable and not outright different. I think will WOT you could concentrate more on the death/gore/battle/magic to keep non die...
I've always avoided going as far as guns when writing. Too scared of the conflict, I don't think I could mould it in well. Plus one of the things I love about history/fantasy worlds is the lack of guns. The talent and skill required by the warriors make for very interesting characters. No doubt...
