My gods exist primarily to keep the universe in balance. Mortals pray to them, celestials aspire to be them, but the Divine themselves don't interact with the lower Realms on a regular basis. None of them were born Divine though; the Universe itself selected them to fill the required roles.
I already do this with my own blog, but with shorter stories in three to five parts. The blog was only launched at the start of January, so it's early days yet, and I am still learning SEO to attract my target audience. I am also posting some of my worldbuilding as blog posts as well.

I would read Machiavelli's The Prince, and possibly also Sun Tzu's The Art of War. Neither are terribly long, and are more of a primer on politics and war. Given both men were successful in eras where politics dominated their world, they have very useful insights.

You could also tier your gods and goddesses. For example, your Goddess of War, could be supported by a God of Swords, God of Battle, Goddess of Victory, etc. And an Unknown God, is also a useful addition.
