I wouldn't expect medieval armor to stop any modern bullets unless the angle happened to be just perfect. A .22 bullet can travel a good mile before running out of steam.

You've been given several good suggestions, and I'll just add one more. Whatever you do, please do not make names with apostrophes in the middle! It makes reading it so much more difficult.

I would be willing to read something like that, but I would also have the expectation that their paths would cross somewhere, whether in the first book or a later one. If their paths never intersect and never will, you might as well write two entirely separate books.

So far I am unpublished because I haven't actually submitted anything to anyone. It's also a possibility that my writing is absolutely awful and not worth much. (Though preliminary reviews have been positive.) I really just need to sit down and write. I keep thinking about it and never doing...
